Description Information

Brigadier General Shuey wrote this military Field Guide to help the visitor on Omaha Beach, beginning in the West and ending at Fox Beach. There is an accurate military description of the battlefield with many testimonies of the soldiers who fought there in the middle of the D-Day hell. Also, excellent maps and pictures have been added to enhance the reader's experience.

General Norman Cota was promoted to Major General and given command of the 28th Infantry Division, a Pennsylvania National Guard Unit. Brigadier General Shuey enlisted in the 28th Division in 1970 prior to the death of General Cota. Brigadier General Shuey rose to the position of Assistant Division Commander for Maneuver in the 29th Division, the position General Cota held on D-Day. He held this assignment from 2002 through 2006 and was present on Omaha Beach for the 60th and 65th Anniversaries of D-Day.

As a Colonel, Theodore G. Shuey previously commanded the famous 116th Infantry Brigade, known as America's Stonewall Brigade from 1997 to 2000. He also authored Ever Forward, the first complete history of the 116th Infantry.
